Head to the Starting Line for the Downtown Columbia Turkey Trot

  |     |   Uncategorized

Getting in your morning run on Thanksgiving is as simple as making a couple of laps around the mall. The Mall in Columbia serves as the site for the annual Downtown Columbia Turkey Trot, with runners making a loop around the perimeter twice to crush their 5K goal. The course starts and ends just beyond the doors of Maggiano’s, cutting a path around JC Penny, Lord & Taylor, and other anchor stores before sending runners around for a second lap.
If you want to burn some calories before hitting your Turkey Day feast, register for the race and come to the mall 15 or 20 minutes ahead of the 8:30 a.m. start time on November 25th. That should give you ample time to park and make your way to the finish line. Make sure you have your bib affixed securely to your shirt since it contains the chip that will allow your race time to be logged online. Your registration fee includes access to that time, as well as a Turkey Trot long-sleeved shirt and a finisher’s medal.
